Nationwide Starlink Installation Rollout

Project Overview:
KMS Communications worked in partnership with Telesol, Blue Networks and GTT to deliver a nationwide Starlink installation programme for the end client, European Metal Recycling Limited (EMR). The rollout covered approximately 70 operational sites across the United Kingdom.
Our scope included site surveys, installation planning, secure mounting of Starlink satellite equipment, internal and external cable routing, Power over Ethernet connectivity, network equipment installation, testing and final commissioning.

The project required detailed regional scheduling, coordination of multiple installation teams and consistent delivery standards across a geographically dispersed estate. Each installation included photographic evidence and completion documentation, reinforcing our commitment to Knowledge, Mastery and Support, delivering reliable connectivity with minimal disruption to EMR’s operations.
Ciena 6500 DWDM Network Deployment and Commissioning

Project Overview:
KMS Communications works in partnership with Entegro to support the deployment of carrier-grade Ciena 6500 Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) infrastructure across the UK.
The scope includes staging, installation and commissioning of Ciena 6500 platforms across 2-slot, 7-slot, 14-slot and 32-slot shelf configurations. These deployments support a range of optical transport schemes, including new DWDM rings, Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) nodes and Optical Line Amplifier (OLA) sites.

Each deployment is completed in accordance with scheme-specific engineering documentation. Activities include equipment preparation, chassis and rack installation, power integration, population and verification of specified cards and optical modules, equipment-side fibre connectivity, management connectivity and commissioning checks.
​
The platforms incorporate technologies such as wavelength-selective switching, optical performance monitoring, line amplification and optical supervisory channels. Detailed verification ensures each network element is correctly built, commissioned and ready for integration into the wider optical transport network.

This partnership demonstrates KMS Communications’ capability to deliver technically complex DWDM infrastructure consistently across long-haul and metro network environments.

Project Overview:
KMS Communications worked in partnership with Surrey Data Cabling to deliver structured data cabling installation works at a construction site in Manchester.

The cabling infrastructure was installed and routed throughout the site, with the required terminations and labelling completed in accordance with the project specifications. The work required close coordination with other contractors, adherence to site health and safety requirements and consistent installation standards throughout the programme.
This project demonstrates KMS Communications’ ability to deliver organised and reliable structured cabling installations within active construction environments.
